I have been very excited in my journey to develop new coaches. At least, I know I will be able to help create a bigger impact in the world by ensuring that they learn the pre-requisite skills.
I find that many are not aware of the impact that a life coach can make. After all, it seems to be just a conversation. This conversation must be of a certain amount of impact and value. But contrary to what most people think, it isn?t that easy to become a coach without gradual and guided improvement.
In my training of life coaches I believe the most important aspect of their development is their ability to maximize their self-efficacy. In the studies on self-efficacy in psychology, we know that creating opportunities for developing confidence begins with a step-by-step achievement of clear targets.
Which is why a clear list of target coaching competencies can help to make life coaches practice more effective even within a short span of time.
As a life coach, you need to be encouraged to find your own voice. It is a common knowledge that practice is not enough. As a developing coach you need to have a combination of practice as well as role modeling. Ultimately, the life coach must be comfortable establishing a strong foundation for creating a safe environment for change. When this happens, the process of change happens because the client trusts the guide.
Each session I set up for my coaches is to help then devise a way to reach to a higher level of success and to create small throughout my 6 days of training and 6 months of additional mentorship.
At the end, my intent for building this capability is to help transform the world. I believe with more well-trained coaches, we can help make the world a better place.
